Welcome to Aloura ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our application and website.

1. Information We Collect

a. Personal Data

When you register for an account, we may collect personally identifiable information, such as your email address, display name, date of birth, and gender. For standard users, we do not require a phone number. Phone numbers are only collected for verified Agents acting on behalf of the platform.

b. Biometric and Photo Data

To ensure authenticity and safety, we collect photos that you upload. We use facial recognition and liveness detection technologies (such as Google ML Kit / MediaPipe FaceLandmarker) locally on your device to verify that your uploaded photos belong to you. This biometric data is processed dynamically to grant the "Verified" status and ensure community standards.

c. Location Data

We collect your physical location data (GPS coordinates) to show you nearby profiles and curated connections. You can control location permissions through your device settings.

d. Financial Data

We do not store or process your credit card information. All in-app purchases (e.g., Aloura Gold) are handled securely by third-party payment processors (Google Play Store / Apple App Store) and managed via RevenueCat.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Match you with other users based on preferences and location.
• Verify your identity and maintain a secure community.
• Process payments for premium features.
• Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information only in the following situations:

• With Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors (like Firebase for hosting/database and RevenueCat for purchase tracking) who need access to perform services on our behalf.
• For Legal Reasons: We will disclose your information where required to do so by law or subpoena to protect our rights or the safety of others.
• With Other Users: Information you voluntarily place on your profile (photos, bio, display name) will be visible to other users. You can use "Ghost Mode" (Aloura Gold feature) to restrict your visibility.

4. Data Deletion Instructions

In accordance with Google Play's Data Safety policies, you have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated personal data.

To delete your account from within the Aloura Android app:

1. Open the Aloura application and log in.
2. Navigate to your Profile tab (the icon in the bottom right corner).
3. Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner.
4. Scroll down and select Privacy Settings.
5. Under the "ACCOUNT ACTIONS" section, tap Delete Account.
6. Confirm your decision in the resulting popup dialog.

Upon confirmation, your Firebase Authentication profile, all Cloudinary images, matches, messages, and Firestore database records will be permanently and irreversibly wiped from our servers.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law. If you delete your account, we will erase or anonymize your personal data immediately, except where retention is strictly required for legal compliance.
